This course, taught by music business professional and adjunct faculty member at the College of St. Rose - Laura Hartmann, is a comprehensive guide to the somewhat complicated and daunting business of a performing musician. Many different roles must be filled and function together in concert to sustain a viable performing career; this course will endow you with the understanding necessary to fill these roles either personally or by hiring team members. Laura Hartmann has more than 20 years experience in the music business as an artist manager, producer, concert promoter and music lover.
Education has always been a big part of Laura’s work. From setting up residencies in schools around the globe with clients, to becoming an adjunct faculty member at the College of St. Rose (Albany, NY). She has been a guest artist at schools including the University of Hartford, Hartt School of Music; Center for Entrepreneurship at the Manhattan School of Music; University of MD, College Park; University of the Arts (Philadelphia); Virginia Commonwealth University (Richmond, VA); Albany High School (NY); Jazz Standard Youth Jazz Orchestra among others.
